Placing a cat tree
Stand a tall tree on a level floor against a wall or in a corner, and fix it to the wall if a wall strap is included. Check the maximum cat weight above for each platform, and tighten the screws again after the first weeks of use.
A sloped face to scratch
- Corrugated cardboard face: layered cardboard edges that claws catch in, running the full length of the slope.
- Dark side panels: plain triangular sides that frame the cardboard.
- Small: a solid wedge, 41 cm high, that can also lie on its back as a low ramp.
- Medium and Large: taller models with a fish-shaped window (Medium) or a side opening and a slot across the top (Large).
Cardboard scratchers shed small fibres as they are used and wear down over time; that is how they work. Stand the scratcher on a level floor against a wall so it does not slide when a cat pushes into the slope.

Which size should I choose? The Small wedge suits a kitten or a cat that scratches low and can lie flat as a ramp. The Medium and Large stand taller for a cat that stretches up to scratch, and have an opening in the side.
Can a cat sit on it? A cat can sit on the top edge or lie against the slope; it is a scratcher rather than a bed or a platform.
Does the cardboard wear out? Yes. The corrugated face wears down with scratching and sheds a few fibres, which is normal for a cardboard scratcher.
