Leather, braided at both ends

  • Leather strap: a flat brown strap with a darker smooth face and a lighter raw edge.
  • Braided joins: short woven sections at the clip end and the handle end, with no stitching.
  • Swivel snap hook: a gold-tone metal hook with a spring gate, on a swivel eye.
  • Hand loop: an open loop at the end of the lead to hold.

Choose the width by your dog: the 12 mm lead is the lighter one, the 16 mm the broader one. The 120 cm length keeps a dog close at your side; 170 cm is the everyday length; 220 and 270 cm give room on quiet paths and in training. The 270 cm length comes in 12 mm only.

Wipe the lead with a damp cloth after a muddy walk and let it dry at room temperature, away from a radiator. A little leather balm now and then keeps the strap supple.

Which width should I choose? The 12 mm strap is the narrower and lighter one; the 16 mm strap is broader and fills the hand more.

Is a collar included? No. The lead clips to the ring of a collar or harness; the collars in the photos are not part of it.

Will the leather stay stiff? New leather is firm at first and softens with use and handling.
