A litter scoop of stainless steel wire, with a deep basket of wide slots that sift clean litter back into the tray and a long looped handle.
Choosing the right size
A litter box should be about one and a half times the length of your cat, from nose to the base of the tail. Older cats and kittens need a low entry. With more than one cat, the usual rule is one box per cat plus one.
Wire that sifts
- Stainless steel wire: the basket and the handle are one piece of wire work.
- Wide slots: loose litter runs through, clumps stay in the basket.
- Straight front edge: reaches into the corners of the tray.
- Looped handle: long, with a rounded grip at the end.
The wide slots are made for clumping litter; very fine grains and small crumbs can fall through them. The scoop is sold on its own.
