Measure the back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, the chest girth round the widest part of the ribcage and the neck girth. The chest girth decides the size; the back length may be a little shorter than your measurement.

  • Pocket hoodie: soft sweatshirt fabric with a hood, a kangaroo pocket on the back, ribbed cuffs and a ribbed hem; in burgundy, navy, orange, pink, lilac or coffee.
  • Denim-patch hoodie: a heathered sweatshirt body with a dark hood and a denim-look patch across the back; in red or pink.
  • Fleece vest: sleeveless polar fleece with a stand collar and a metal D-ring on a strap at the back of the neck; in nine plain colours or four buffalo checks.
  • Pull-on fit: no buttons, zips or straps: each piece slips over the head and the front legs.

Not every style comes in every size: the pocket hoodie runs from XS to 2XL, the denim-patch hoodie only in XS, S and XL, and the fleece vest from S to XL. The sizes go by chest girth and pet weight as the maker gives them; neither piece is waterproof. For a dog that pulls on the lead, clip the lead to a harness rather than the vest's D-ring.

Can I clip a lead to it? The fleece vest has a metal D-ring on a strap at the back of the neck. The hoodies have none, so use a harness under or over them.

Is it for cats too? Yes, the sizes start at a chest of 30 cm and a weight of half a kilo, so small cats can wear them as well as small dogs.
